June Issue of House & Garden Provides Inspiration
by 12:06 pm2006.05.24Filed under General

I am a confessed magazine addict. My favorite thing to do on a Sunday morning is to pour myself a big cup of coffee and climb back into bed with a stack of the month’s shelter pubs. These stolen moments of time feel so luxurious, and the magazine pages provide ideas and inspiration for homes filled with joy and creativity.

Last Sunday, I devoured the new June issue of House & Garden. Most of this month’s issue is focused on “129 Custom Sources: Handcrafted Fabric, Furniture, Jewelry, Tiles & China,” and the pages are chock full of amazing work by even more amazing artists and designers. (Check out page 33, which features the work of my good friend and furniture maker extraordinaire, Miguel Gomez-Ibanez.)

House & Garden editor Dominique Browning, in her monthly “Welcome” column, writes: “…I want to support people who devote their lives to making things – who blow glass, or weave fabrics, or throw pots, or build furniture.”

It is exciting to me to see the editor of a major shelter magazine champion the work of the hand and fill the pages of her magazine with artwork to live with. My advice to you is to run to the newsstand and grab a copy of the June issue of House & Garden. Then sit back and prepare to be inspired.
